HTC just gained a lot or respect from me and I will consider them for my next device which is in November. I was going to hold out for the BIONIC until then but I may have to jump the Moto ship unless now that they are part of Google they have a few more experience devices by then. I also wonder what the re-lock process is. I know if it wasn’t for fastboot on my XOOM I wouldn’t have rooted ROM’d and then broke the damn thing requiring not 1 but 4 times of flashing the SBF. Does anyone know are the SBF counterparts available for HTC devices. Having not owned one I have never looked into it.

People are given a unique key during the process. Don’t think it means they’re tracking or anything though

Here we go with where the “unlocked where supported by the carrier” thing comes into play. We know how stubborn Verizon is with unlocked devices. I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see HTC support the unlocking of bootloaders on Verizon devices.

So here’s a question, if you unlock it, will there be a way to re-lock it? Is HTC even going to track people that use the unlocker?
