Best Buy Announces 20% Off Purchase Of Beats Headphones, When Buying An HTC Phone

HTC just ended their highly hyped teleconference. They have officially announced their partnership with Beats By Dre, and now own 51% of the brand. It was not completely clear last night whether they would be offering free Beats when buying an HTC phone, or what exactly the deal meant for consumers. As of today, we now know that the deal will bring Beats audio processors into HTC handsets, and will be completely integrated. Sorry for everyone hoping to snag a free set of Beats.

In other news, Best Buy announced that if you buy an HTC phone this weekend, they will give you 20% off a pair of Beats. So if you’re looking to have a very expensive weekend at Best Buy, go ahead and take them up on that offer. We know a lot of audiophiles do not see eye to eye on Beats, but we think this is a pretty sweet partnership. Anyone looking forward to the new Fall/Winter lineup of HTC devices?

Funny, whenever I pass the Beats display in Best Buy, they’re broken in multiple pieces.

Interesting…I’ve trashed my Sennheisers and theyre still in one piece…hmmmm

I don’t mean to be racist, but when the black people walk around with their phones hanging around their neck, blaring their rap music, at least now we might be able to understand the words.

  • Ainokea073

even if you by the Beats By Dre none of them are compatible with HTC Phone anways, unless you don’t mind not using the control function of the headsets…and just used them for listening…oh well…who cares give me a phone that just does…hahaha

Am I the only one excited about this? I just can’t wait for me listening to some music on my new HTC Vigor with some Beats really loud. Look out for Detox

If you really believe that, for one minute, teaming up with Dr. Dre is going to make your phone sound like the stereo in the back of a 67 Olds in the ghetto, or even marginally better than it does now, you’re sadly mistaken I’m afraid.

      • Aading09

So if it was Bose in that 67 in beverly hills the margine of expectation would be awesome right?

        • http://www.facebook.com/bryanpwilliams Bryan Williams

Ha!  Actually Bose is right up there with Beats in mediocre quality and huge marketing.

The majority seems cranky today. Eat a good brunch/lunch, then take a nap. Hopefully that helps XD

Is there anything else to report on today besides the Beats stuff!? Most of us do not car about this. Did Beats  or HTC pay you to posts these stories that we all do not care about?

  • Rader023

My incredible already has a pretty good DSP. I doubt slapping a Beats logo on there is going to improve that much.

  • htc rep

Yo kellex you know what will make the day even more excited if we could know more about the HTC vigor oh yaa.

    • http://www.facebook.com/bryanpwilliams Bryan Williams

Really?  I was thinking if there was another post about the HTC/Beats merger.  That would be very exciting.

Not buying a phone this weekend, but very interested in what the future holds for HTC. I think this is actually a good move if its integrated in to the phone and is better in the sound department.

  • Murphy

It’s going to be a slow news day…

It’s always amazed my why someone will read and get so excited about something they are not interested in.

      • Mctypething

95% of comments on these articles have been to the effect that nobody cares about this.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Michael-Forte/542650247 Michael Forte

Just because they posted an article doesn’t mean you have to read it. You have a choice, that is, until Apple sues Droid-Life because they only want you looking at Apple related content.

      • Mctypething

Thanks for the tip. I love how any sort of negative comment on this site is reacted to with just this type of response, “nobody is asking you to read it”. It’s okay to have some negative reactions to posts here and there. Not all of us are droid-life and Android apologists. With regards to this, I personally feel like 5 or 6 posts about this stupid merger between HTC and Beats is way too much. That’s all.

Hell will freeze over before HTC or any money hungry company gives away $200 headphones for free with their $200-$300 phones
