Personally, I use IMs for my home PC. When I’m out, I don’t want to get into a long drawn out IM conversation. I installed Fring when I got my X, and uninstalled it after never using it.

I can be reached via text or call anytime, I don’t need to add another way of people getting a hold of me.

“or since this is an Android phone, I e-mail them.” It takes me 1/4 (or less) of the time to send a text than to email. Texting is easier in a crowded, loud, or busy place. “I’m outside waiting” or “At the bar” is easier to text than email, or try to call and either yell at the person so they can hear (along with others around you), or leave a message only to have them get it late or even after wondering around looking for you at the place you are to meet.

I like Meebo because it shares logs with desktop Meebo, which is my primary IM client. However, Meebo hasn’t updated their app since the Droid 1 came out. Which means it’s buggy as crud, and it ticks me off.

I just paiid $21.86 for an i P a d2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her

Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.74 there arriving tomorrow

by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again.

Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $658 which

only cost me $62.80 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from,

If I need to talk to someone I call, but I rarely want to talk to anyone on the phone if I can avoid it. I much prefer either in person, face to face, or some form of text. There is just something I hate about talking to people who I can’t see. And, I still use text messaging because way too many people that I need to communicate some quick bits of information to still do not have smart phones/data plans, but yet are big texters themselves. So, I use e-mail when I can, but when I want a quick reply on something, it is usually back to good old reliable text messages (with Handcent on my Droid 2 Global).

I never got text messaging. I mean, if I want to talk to someone I call, or if I need an answer fast, I gtalk, and get the answer right away, or since this is an Android phone, I e-mail them. Texting seems like such an outmodded form of communication, very pre-smartphone.
