I don't know which other phone Samsung could have used a TI chip for in the past. But the Galaxy S did not in any way use a TI chip.

Looking through their list of Android phones, including previous Galaxies (but not the Galaxy S that you stated) they have used other companies SOC's instead of their in house chips (like the Hummingbird that the Galaxy S actually uses) but the fall back has been mainly Qualcom (still not TI). In fact I couldn't find a single Samsung Android phone that used a Omap unit.

The OMAP4470 with the PowerVR SGX544 GPU would be good. But the OMAP4460 already seems to be outclassed in a lot of ways by the competition. If the next Nexus has the 4470 CPU and a 720p AMOLED display like the rumors have been suggesting, then I may have to force myself to wait yet again.

Just to make this clear, even if Motorola was to make the next Nexus Google would NEVER allow them to put a locked bootloader on it, maybe at worst they would feature some sort of unlockable bootloader such as in the Xoom but not a completly locked down on like for example in a Droid X. I actually hope Motorola makes the next Nexus, Motorola Hardware and Look + Google experience vanilla android + ICS = EPIC followup to the Nexus S

Agreed. ICS needs well implemented hardware acceleration. HC is still a little bit laggy with it. With some optimizing, it can make a device very smooth. When my 2nd gen iTouch with a 433mhz ARM11 CPU can scroll smoother than a phone with a 1ghz dual core Cortex A9, you know something is wrong. I may not like Apple, but I can admit, they implement hardware acceleration extremely well.

Mrs. Ice Cream Sandwich looks kind of promiscuous in this picture. Almost like Mr. Andy from Texas there took her by force. Judging by the eyes, she doesn't look to happy. Hope this is not ominous...

My spouse and i got really satisfied when Albert could complete his inquiry through the entire ideas he grabbed out of the weblog. It's not at all simplistic just to possibly be making a gift of solutions that some other people could have been selling. Therefore we acknowledge we have the website owner to thank because of that. The specific illustrations you made, the simple website navigation, the friendships your site aid to foster - it's many impressive, and it's really leading our son in addition to the family know that this concept is thrilling, which is wonderfully mandatory. Thanks for everything!
