Samsung Hosting Galaxy Tab 10.1 Software Event August 3, TouchWizUX Update Highlighted

If you own a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, then you’ll want to pay close attention to August 3.  Why?  Well, an event in NYC has been scheduled to show off a “major software update” for the device – TouchWizUX to be exact.  No word yet if this update will also included Android 3.2, but if you are available between 1:00 and 6:00PM that day and in New York, you could swing by and get your Tab updated on the spot.

The date for the over-the-air update has not been set (at least publicly), so stay tuned.

And we’ve dropped a TouchWizUX preview to give you a pretty clear view of what TouchWizUX will do to your currently-stock Honeycomb device.

Can’t wait for this update. TouchWiz or not, this will add all sorts of video codecs and widgets. Vanilla Android is nice but gets a little old hat.

Was there an SD slot on top in the video? @00:49 mark.

Sweet, it has “Indivisual” speakers on each side (@5:50)!  That is the only problem I have had with Samsung so far is their poor english translation.  Or at least that is what I have heard from folks who have had Samsung phones…  Anyone still see this an issue?

Hopefully this will be followed by XDA announcing that they have a custom ROM which removes TouchWizUX on the Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Hopefully CISCO Anyconnect is part of this update.
