I just picked up DINC2 has proper hboot but i’m running on 2.3.3 am I able to use this to get s-off or will i have to wait??

This phone was great out of the box. Now rooted and de bloated the speed is insane..and I haven’t even touched OC yet.

So far, that seems to be the only ROM available, but if you go back a few posts to:http://www.droid-life.com/2011/06/27/full-gingerbread-ruu-for-the-droid-incredible-2-leaks-rooted-versions-too/ to flash it with a rooted version of Gingerbread. Just follow the directions, and try it out.

go to: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/HTC_Incredible_2:_Full_Update_Guide and follow the instructions. All Alpha Rev X does is turn the S-off, which allows for rooting; it doesn’t root your phone. Included in the CM7 wiki, is a link to download ClockworkMod Recovery, and the files to put CM7, and google apps on your phone. For me, AlphaRev installed ClockworkMod for me, so all I needed to do was put the CM7 Update.zip in the root of my SD card, and use Clockwork to install it. Easy as pie

Can anybody help me? I installed the drivers, enabled jab debugging and ran the Windows program as directed. It says it rooted my phone, and it does boot to AlphaRev recovery, but ModLoader doesn’t agree and I get errors having to deal with running privileged commands. I don’t know weather the root worked or not, and I’m seeking help. Re-installing Modloader changes nothing. Am I missing something?

I hate to seem like a spammer, but SUCCESS!!! Not only did I figure out how to use AlphaRev X in Linux, but they brought the Windows version back online. I ran the tool, acquired S-off, installed ClockworkMod and CM7. I have successfully perm rooted my Dinc2. Today is a glorious day!
