Walmart Lowers Price Of XOOM WiFi To Just $499

Looks like Walmart is ready to clean their shelves, and are making way for newer products by lowering the price of the Motorola XOOM WiFi. It’s possible that these devices could see lower prices in the future (original Samsung Galaxy Tab, anyone?), but not by too much. If you’ve been looking to score one, now would be the time. We know that some of you aren’t the biggest fans of the XOOM, but it is still technically the Honeycomb “developer device” and has a pretty large community behind it.

Cheers Darren!

  • I paid $32.67 for a XBOX 360 and my mom got a 17 inch Toshiba laptop for $94.83 being delivered to our house tomorrow by FedEX. I will never again pay expensive retail prices at stores. I even sold a 46 inch HDTV to my boss for $650 and it only cost me $52.78 to get. Here is the website we using to get all this stuff, LiveCent.com

  • I wanted to jot down a simple note in order to thank you for all of the superb solutions you are showing on this website. My particularly long internet look up has at the end been compensated with reliable ideas to go over with my friends and classmates. I ‘d state that that many of us site visitors actually are unequivocally fortunate to be in a decent community with very many awesome professionals with very beneficial methods. I feel very blessed to have seen your entire webpages and look forward to some more exciting times reading here. Thank you once again for a lot of things.

The general concensus is where I fall, I would love to have a tablet, however I have several desktops and laptops, so it is a want, not a need.

That in mind, this is still just too damn expensive for the thing, no matter what one might do with it or if it is a dev tab.

I’m out of the “get it now” early adopter category as well… it was fun but witht he economy as it is, I can and will wait it out until the inevitable price drops on the one that I eventually choose to obtain, if at all …

  • very temping. but I know as soon as I get one something ten better will come out the following week. :/ It’s a very nice toy and would sit nicely next to my galaxy tab.

Dang i already bought my Xoom in March. They really should be no more than $350 tho. Honestly I’m satified with my wifi Xoom. I use the Hdmi port, got movies, music, pictures, games everything I need. I will wait until Htc releases a 10″ tab tho next time I purchase a tablet.

No more buying within the first 2 months for me, seeing how price goes down if you can’t wait a little.

  • I bought a Galaxy Tab 10.1 a week or two ago.  I took it back after about 5 days.  Im sorry, but Honeycomb sucks.  I love me some Android phones, but I found Honeycomb to be slow, laggy, and buggy.

Looking back it’ll be a sales failure like the original Nexus phone however it served its purpose of getting the platform moving.

    • I could have told you that months before it was released. Oh wait i did, check the comments.

You are a really boring troll.

  • I remember when everyone wanted a Xoom. Now it just seems to be the butt of every joke. I still love mine though.

    • and by everyone you mean the 25,000 people worldwide who bought them.

  • still waiting for the xoom 2

  • Stelv81

Still way way too expensive. There are these things called Laptops that are 10x more capable than a tablet and some are even almost the same size as a Xoom. And guess what…some are even cheaper!

  • I’ll wait for an OMAP device, and one that isn’t crashing all the time.  I played with one of these in the store and sorry to report that it’s a crash machine.

Now it’s only about $100+ too expensive. Actually, I wouldn’t buy one if it were $300.

  • abeltrev

damn. i was holding out for the toshiba thrive in a few days, but this price drop puts the xoom at a competitive rate for a serious reconsideration…

  • That’s how much it should have been in the beginning.  $399 if they really wanted to compete.

    • JD

Exactly. Its too bad, because launching at that price point would have really put pressure on the iPad and may have significantly shorted the time that Apple remains atop the tablet world.

      • Apple dominates any market that is not subsidized. On top of that they make more profit per device than any other tech company. So unless Verizon/At&t start covering half the cost of tablets the iPad will be king in the foreseeable future.

          • are you excited about 10th grade starting in the fall?

          • Anonymous

I’m surprised you managed to make it to high school.

        • Anonymous

Exactly! Because everyone uses Macs, no one uses that other mainstream OS, what’s it called?  “Windows” or something?

          • yes and Apple is worth more than Microsoft. Next

          • Anonymous

I never said Apple gets away with charging incredible markup on their computers. But that’s not what you said, you said, “Apple dominates any market that is not subsidized.”    Did you not mean “market share” when you said market?   It’d be kind of ass-backwards retarded to compare the value of a company that builds hardware and software for numerous kinds of devices to a company that builds software.

          • Oh i though Xbox and Zune were hardware. Sorry.

          • Tesseract 3

You don’t have any idea what you are talking about.

          • Tesseract 3

Your argument is so retarded it isn’t even worthy of a rebuttal. You are the most fail troll ever. You can’t even put forth a coherent argument. Go eat some brains iZombie.

          • and yet your comment is a rebuttal….

          • Tesseract 3

            No, it’s a flame.

        • Tesseract 3

          You’re a dumbass.

  • Colemanjj616

$399 sounds even better I’ll keep waiting.
