I disagree. If Verizon handed out a how-to for rooting and basically endorsed the idea by providing a one-click method, it would be a living hell for the majority of us. Do you realize how many noobs would give it a try, totally mess things up, and then flood forums with the same questions? Do you know how many ”help, stuck in a bootloop” or “what ROM/kernel/theme is the best for me” threads are already out there? Imagine how many more we’d be looking at if Verizon followed the plan of Cincinnati Bell. The average smartphone user (which is the majority of them) has no need to root their phone. This would only cause headaches for everyone else. I sure would hate to work for Cincinnati Bell’s tech support right now.

its probably just the fact that they are too lazy to get someone to actually work to get a OTA and this was the easiest way to do so, however i bet if you Root after the update your “warranty” is back to voided….very strange indeed.
