I just got a Global as an insurance replacement for a Droid Star Wars model. This Global reboots at will with only one installed app (Cadre Bible). I removed the app, now let’s see if this lame phone keeps rebooting. I am not a fan of droid phones after three duds.

According to the article: “What we’ve been told is that Verizon has now rejected all Gingerbread builds from Moto until they have worked out a number of bugs that came with the DROIDX’s 2.3, a list which seems to be growing by the day”

So where is this list? Why didn’t they put it out there. I have no problem with GB, i like it better than Froyo!

i updated my OG to CM7, and then Liquid GB, and had all the issues that alot of the DX(my husband’s COMPLETELY stock DX included) are experiencing…now i’m back at stock rooted froyo and my OG works like a charm.

Droid X Gingerbread was sweet for maybe 3 days, then it just started random restarts (reminded me of Blackberry Storm days). There are so many small bugs, its ridiculous. (The camera settings reset everytime, so when i want a picture taken, i have to re-do the settings to 5MP etc etc…)

Count yourself lucky.

I’ve been hit with a number of problems, reboots (rare), dropped voice network (common), battery drain (constantly), etc. I regretted the update within 24 hrs.

Moto’s been really disappointing lately…DX GB issue, Bionic delays, locked bootloaders. They need to start to get it together and quick.

I still find it amazing that Moto cant release an OS update that isnt filled with bugs after MONTHS of working on it, yet our community devs can take a leak and make it into a smooth running machine in a couple of days of working on it in their spare time… If this is not an argument as to why the manufacturers and carriers should be taken out of the OS process entirely, then I dont know what is. Lets face it, OS updates should come directly from Google. Bone stock and ready to go.

Actually, I had an OG I loved, but got destroyed. Now I use a Droid2 running Liberty Froyo, which is more or less stock Android, and it’s far more powerful than the OG ever was. Plus the keyboard is nicer. Apart from the #$%&*ng locked bootloader, the D2 is an awesome phone.

Point is, I think Blur is the failure, not the Droid 2.

I’m beginning to see there was a reason Moto was on the brink of collapse before their OG release saved them. It’s run by idiots. The OG was a lucky fluke on their part and now they’ve squandered their opportunity to be the Android phones to beat.
