4G is a must have. I was at my local walmart and they had a droid charge to play with. The data speed on that thing was insane. The only thing missing from this phone is 4G and the front facing camera. I will continue to wait.

It's true that people shouldn't get overly upset over a phone. That being said, that doesn't mean people can't express their displeasure at how the phone has been gimped. This locked bootloader nonsense is garbage and prevents really full featured ROMs like Cynanogen from working. I don't have any of the Motorola phones with locked bootloaders so I'm not sure how full featured the ROMs are, but I'm not sure a completely different ROM can be made with a locked bootloader. By that I mean they may be able to skin it, they may be able to add apps and other features but I don't know if in the end will Blur still be technically there and running in the background. I've dealt with that crap (skinned ROM that still has the manufacturer UI running, just hidden) with my Vibrant and after having gone through the install for Cyanogen mod, I can't imagine going back to that.

I really wish Motorola would stop gimping their own phones with this crappy software because they are one of the best hardware manufacturers around IMO.

I'm dying for a new phone. I've had my DX since last July. The DX2 looked great to me originally, until I realized there's hardly any real difference. Sure, a screen resolution bump would be nice, but not worth the money or the upgrade over the original. I wish someone would actually release something on the bleeding edge instead of all these incremental half-baked phones.

if you don't care about 4G or it's not in your area, this a very very nice upgrade from the Original Droid X, of which I have and love. So if the Bionic's release is too far to wait, and 4G LTE isn't a deal breaker, This looks like a fantastic phone.

I like it because it is more internal memory which means I never had to deal with moving apps to SD (something I do not want to do again after the OG droid), I bought a 32 GB class 6 card a year ago well worth the price

the why: less than 5% of people who get phones now a days use more than 2gb on their memory cards.

their reasoning: cheaper memory card = cheaper phone = more sales

i dont agree with it, but i see why they do it( i for one keep my rotation of memory cards full to the max. always nice to have ample entertainment available when one travels alot. cant get enough seinfeld :D
