ok i am a new droid user i have the first model and am trying to root it or whatever its called i downloaded zMooth Pro and it put this pull up bar on the bottom of my screen. and let me access a few more apps in the market. i dont know waht to really do and dont want to brick my phone. if someone can text me and give me instructions on how to take control of my phone and get free apps without paying i will send whoever helps me. my phone number is 270 556 8476. please and thank you.

After some of the positive comments on here, I decided to ditch PE4.2 because I was still having intermittent texting issues where I wouldn’t receive them. It was definitely a lot better than PE5.0.2 but lately it’s been happening more.

So far so good. Only time will tell based on how many people ask me, “Why didn’t you respond to my text?”

^click there to find which google maps .zip file you need for whichever cyanogenmod you are using. its on the bottom of the page.

you need the gapps-gb-20110307…zip for CM7RC4
^DL that and stick it on your Phones ROOT SD card via USB Mount
Boot to Recovery (HOLD X while Powering on)
Install the ZIP from SD. Reboot. Done. Win

It’s slimmed down too much! Where’s the Gmail app, and market app? How in the world is one supposed to recover any apps without market? Other than that it’s a cool ROM! Restored backup until fixed.

Before I install, can someone tell me if notification color choices are in it? CM 6 has this of course, and it’s the reason I couldn’t use PE 5. Just want to make sure it’s not a GB issue. So can anyone confirm if this exists? (custom colors for different apps’ notifications)

Seems RC4 has fixed my problem of force closing the bluetooth connection when transferring phone book to my car stereo. RC4 runs like a champ for me.

I did, then I jsut grabbed my old OG droid and did it dropped th rom on it there. I like some of the options with CM7 but I miss the pulldown power management of CM 6.1

Alot of us had hit the same problem when we 1st started, I believe u just had to name it update instead of update.zip and reboot.
