I have a feeling that the “DROID” brand is going to be taking a downturn this year. What I think they are going to end up doing is releasing most handsets without the branding, and only attaching it to a few select ones, which in reality have lesser specs then the competition, selling on the brand name alone. The good phones will sell themselves, and the ones that will need the help will get the DROID brand.

Does anybody remember a few years back when Intel discontinued the Pentium line of chips, then started releasing new chips with lesser specs then their flagship models hoping to sell them on the branding. I see this as the likely future of the DROID brand as well.

In person the phone is super light weight wise, very amazing screen like no other, and supposedly very good battery life.

Why do you have to corrupt the droid brand? U never update and you never make desirable hardware (no pun indented) get a life samsung! and stop taking down what motorola and HTC built up as a brand name

This is the surprise???? That the name has Droid in it???? I have to say that I am dissappointed that this is the surprise. I hate to say that I could care less what the name is. You had me gassed up for something big.

Stock battery and non rooted, I couldn’t muster up the courage to root until this morning lol, its really not that hard either for anyone wondering…and there’s already a non sense Rom on the way development for this phone is going to be amazing!

I’ve had the same result for my TB for the past two days. Both days I only used LTE and by the time I hit the sack I still had 41% battery after 15 hours of use.

that is much better than anything else I have read or heard with the TB. Is that the stock battery? If so, I’d say there’s hope.

Why is the “Droid” branding so surprising? I’m willing to guess that Verizon doesn’t own the moniker and is just licensing it from LucasFilms or something (especially with all the Star Wars themed Droid paraphernalia that came out awhile back), so Verizon likely doesn’t have a say in the matter unless they have some sort of exclusivity agreement…LucasFilms could, in theory, license the name out to every phone manufacturer. At the end of the day, I’m still not sure why people care so much about the branding. As I’ve said before, I think it’s ultimately done more harm than help to the Android landscape (in terms of confusion/name dilution for people who don’t know the difference between “Droid” and “Android”), so the sooner this becomes out of vogue, the better.

Why does everyone think the tb has such horrible battery life????, I went to bed last night with 28% charge after heavy use for about 15 hours, my fascinate could never do that….just saying….
