Tuesday Poll: What do you want to see at Google’s Honeycomb event tomorrow?

Google’s event tomorrow promises to be something you won’t want to miss and will feature the official unveiling of Honeycomb, but that’s not all we’re expecting.  In the press invite they also mention “Android eco-system news” which we are starting to think means Google Music or a browser-based Android Market will be included.  Both would mean some pretty major things for the platform, so be sure to keep your fingers crossed.  Which possible announcement are you most looking forward to?

And don’t forget, the event starts at 10AM PST.

What do you want to see from Google tomorrow?

Honestly If Google could just hurry up and get this music thing on lock, I could see if it’s worth switching from Zune…..Which I am a bit doubtful of at the moment. Zune is the best thing thats happened to music imo, in the last 20 years. At least from the consumers point of view i.e. ME.

  • SetNick

Suprised no one has said to release the sdk already.

How about freakin’ BlindType?? That would be SO epic if they announced that XOOM would ship with it.

…but for some reason, I don’t see that happening. Can’t wait for when it finally does make it to our devices.

Honestly, I’m not willing to try out another keyboard unless it either comes free or pre-installed on my next device. After seeing numerous reviews on various keyboard apps, one thing sticks out – you need time to play around with it and see if it’s something you want to switch over to. A 15 minute window simply isn’t enough, and most keyboard apps aren’t free.

I’m with you there, mostly — but have you seen the youtube video on BlindType? Man, looks absolutely amazing. If you haven’t seen it, check it out. You’ll see at least why I’m wanting to try it. And, specifically, it looks like it would be outstanding on a tablet… Swype may still be the smartphone keyboard of choice due to screen size limitations..

How about Google Music (with 2.2 support), Browser based market, more Honeycomb news (For phones), and a real Google Docs app? Specifically I want Google Music that way I can tell iTunes to shove it.

  • http://twitter.com/zacminor Zac Minor

Definitely hoping for full-fledged Google Docs integration. An app, not a mobile interface

I’m more interested in the chance to hear of Google Music and the Browser-based Market. Also, Music integration with the next version of android (for the phone) would be epic.

Tablets are nice, but I don’t think I need one right now.

All of the above are great and will some day be something I will get excited about, but I just want Gingerbread on my X, is that too much to ask for?… All this jazz about whats going to be on Tablets is a little upsetting. Just sayin’ It looks awesome, if I get a tablet later this year I hope to paly around with 3.0, but I am honestly more just wanting my phone up to speed… I love Android, but let’s not get too ahead of ourselves.

This needed to be multiple choice. My choices would have been (in order):

    1. Official release date and price for the Xoom.
    2. Google Music
    3. more Honeycomb info

#3 is somewhat irrelevant, since I’ll know more about Honeycomb when I have the Xoom in my hands. Not like they’re going to tell me something about Honeycomb, that will change my mind about buying the Xoom.

  • Rocktoonz

I wanna see them giving me Tablets :D

Id like the browser based market. I dont have that much music (17GB) so it can fit easily on my sdcard.

    • Anonymous

      O_O

I relalize it’s all relative but dang, I never thought I’d hear someone say 17 gigs of music “wasn’t that much” :P

FTR, I’ve probably got close to that too and haven’t downloaded or bought music in years… so I guess it’s not a bad description after all. I just remember having to buy a second hard drive way back when just to fit all my music on it, and that was probably a 7GB HD back in 2001…

Google Music at this point, I’ve been so used to using the App Market on my phone as well as App Brain that while I welcome it, I’m ready to move all my music off of Apple’s stuff first.

  • Ah Yeah!

    Boobies!

  • JoeLivesLife

I definitely don’t want to see any phones or devices I want. Bought a new phone recently and I don’t want to feel like I missed out :P But I do want to see Google Music/Browser Based Android Market. Most of all, I want to see a way to sync my phone to my computer. But I probably won’t see that LOL – its a HONEYCOMB event. What am I saying…

  • DroidzFX

A reasonable price so Honeycomb can cover the world and sting the sh■t out of IFAD!!!

Ya i want it for my D1

      • http://twitter.com/TuxDotKing Avichi Suite

OG? Isn’t there a ROM for it yet? Maybe try a CyanogenMod 7 nightly?

      • Anonymous

Also Pete did a pretty good job as always with the new Bugless .6

        • Anonymous

Ya I have tried CM7 nightlies and they ate pretty nice still with a few bugs I.e. GPS or camera not working. And Pete did a great jib and its super fast but its a froyo build with gingerbread theme basically. I am running Liquid Gingerbread its pretty smooth and has it all, but its built off a build for the nexus S. So hopefully once the D1 has its gingerbread released and the custom rom’s come out we will see the full potential of gingerbread.

As a fellow droid x owner, i’ll say we’re lucky if we see it by august.

      • Anonymous

I’m optimistically hoping for sometime around May. I think a good indicator might be new phones shipping with 2.3 out of the box. I’m not sure what phone (besides the Nexus S) will be the first to ship, but when it does, I expect OTAs follow before too long.
