Never mind. I just went to the Best Buy site and the Galaxy Tab has been lowered to $499 as well. It is available in-store only. I reviewed their price guarantee and it looks like I have 14 days from date of purchase to get the price differential. Woo-hoo! … $100 coming my way!

I bought my Verizon version last week from Best Buy (seven days ago). I wonder if Best Buy is going to lower their price? It would be nice to get a $100 refund.

Interesting thing of note… Bluetooth is built into the nook. Kindof a big deal. Since this means eventually we’ll have BT support. Which will lead to skype type programs that will work with a BT headset. Neat stuff.

The Tab has no phone functionality. That makes it less useful. Having a bigger screen does nothing more than blow up the image. My Droid X is much more useful than a Tab could ever be. That makes it worth less than a Droid X. Tab = Fail

Being locked to a data plan makes the Tab a loser. The iPad certainly isn’t perfect, but it has lots of great apps designed for it – its not just a blown up iphone anymore (like the Tab). The screen is a lot better than the Tab. I waited for an Android tablet for 6 months before I got the iPad. Unfortunately Android still can’t get its sh*&t together.

I know absolutely nothing about the HTC Scribe other than its name, but know that it will be a hundred times the tablet that any amount of rooting could ever make the Tab. The tab is too choppy and touch wiz is too slow, even if they did doll it up slightly to look more like stock android.

I go by results, and HTC has proven itself to me time and time again (hell, just look what they were able to do with the pure liquid sewage that was winmo). The Scribe will blow everything else out of the water.

Cool. I’m gonna wait till after CES and make my decision. Probably going to wait and see what the Froyo update will bring to it to see if I really need to root it or not (probably gonna root it anyway to “clean” it).
