TeamViewer BETA For Android Released!

by: | posted 11.24.10 | News

Finally! The TeamViewer team has released a BETA version of this extremely powerful software. If you’re new to TeamViewer, then there isn’t a much better way of explaining it than it allows you to control your ‘partners’ PC while you’re a million miles away.

“TeamViewer connects to any PC or server around the world within a few seconds. You can remote control your partner’s PC as if you were sitting right in front of it.”

Unrevoked Has a Fix for DROID Incredible Root, In Final Testing Now

by: | posted 11.24.10 | News

The new update for the Droid Incredible broke the previous root method from unrevoked, but that hasn’t stopped their team from finding a new way to do it less than two weeks later.  According to a tweet sent out by them just a couple of hours ago, it looks like they’ve found what they need and are now testing it.  Maybe we’ll see the new version of unrevoked by the end of the weekend?  Stay tuned!

DROID X Theme: Sinful Pink by JsinLegacy

by: | posted 11.24.10 | DROIDX, Root

How about a Thanksgiving special from one of our favorite themers, JsinLegacy?   Say hello to “Sinful Pink”, a theme with just enough touches of our favorite color (salmon?) to make you feel metro without blinding you into calling it pink.  And actually, there are additional colors, but we know how much you all love this color and wouldn’t want to disappoint.  Enjoy!

Verizon Black Friday Specials Include Incredible for $149 and BOGA, Plus Continuum for $99

by: | posted 11.24.10 | News

Fresh off the insider wire, we have the list of Verizon’s Black Friday specials and we’ve trimmed them down to only include smartphones, although at request, I’m sure we could toss back in a few feature phones.  Silly.

So we’ve got a really good deal for the Continuum going on tomorrow and Friday at $99 (after rebate), the LG Vortex for free (after rebate) and the Incredible for $149 plus a BOGA offer all weekend. That’s “buy one phone, get ANY other phone of equal or lesser value” for those new to the shopping lingo.  Think about the possibilities there, people.

Rest of the deals after the break.

DROID Incredible Free from Dell, Plus Additional $25 Gift Card for New Contracts

by: | posted 11.24.10 | News

Former Dell product customers should be receiving the email above any minute now which points out that the Droid Incredible is now free with a 2-year activation.  What’s even better is the fact that Dell will also toss in a $25 gift card just for good measure.  So yeah, you pay nothing for a phone and then they actually give you money for it.  Obviously you pay a ridiculous amount over the life of a contract for you minute and data package, but still, not a bad deal.

Buy.

Cheers Octotron you long lost soul!

Verizon Sends New DROID 2 Global Emails, is this our Official Announcement?

by: | posted 11.24.10 | News

After this, we’ll just stop talking about the fact that Verizon has decided to sneak in the Droid 2 Global without ever  giving it a proper announcement (Facebook message doesn’t count) and then maybe they will decide to.  As you can see from the email above, VZW is starting to send out additional emails to Droid email subscribers bragging that it is the “first smartphone with a 1.2GHz processor.”  Seems like something press release-worthy doesn’t it?

Lost Root When Upgrading DROID X to 2.2.1?

by: | posted 11.23.10 | DROIDX, News, Root

This may already be a non-issue to the group of you that upgraded to Android 2.2.1 on your Droid X, but if you lost root access as I appear to have during the process, z4root will get you back in action.  Just download it from the market, tap “root” and after your phone reboots you should be all good.  To test, open up ShootMe or Titanium Backup to see if you are able to grant either of them access.  If you can, enjoy!  If you can’t, check to make sure you have the newest version of z4root and run it again!

After all that, get ready for a new set of themes from our buddy JsinLegacy coming tomorrow.
