Wirefly Releases Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals, Includes DROID Blowout

The guys over at Wirefly just sent over the deals they plan to have throughout this entire Thanksgiving weekend and the Droid lineup is front and center. Each day, starting Thursday, they plan on having at least one of the Droid branded phones at some ridiculous low price.  You can snag a Incredible for free, Droid Pro for somewhere around the $50 range and the rest of the family on Cyber Monday for something like, free.  You’ll see below that they aren’t specific with the prices, so those numbers I just threw out are guesses, but should be pretty close to what you can expect.

11/23 – 11/24 – Pre Thanksgiving Sale

  • Samsung Fascinate (Verizon Wireless) = Free for new accounts/$99.99 upgrades

11/25 – 11/26 – Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday

11/29 – Cyber Monday  (DROID BLOWOUT SALE)

They will also be selling the LG Vortex, MyTouch 4G, Samsung Intercept, and a bunch of AT&T phones as well, we just thought you’d like to know about the most important ones first.

i wont ever go with wirefly again after dealing with their terrible customer service just to reactivate an account

  • syst3merror

Something else that none of these “offers” tell you is you only get this discounted deal (free/free+gift card/etc) for the PRIMARY account and not any of the secondary numbers! I've tried 5 different “deals” and all of them end up $49.99 instead of free because I'm the 2nd number on a family plan! Blah!

Wirefly's classic scam is to offer rebates and then sit back and laugh as you anxiously check the mail everyday for months…just hoping that you have finally received your rebate check….only to realize much later that your rebate checks are, in fact, never actually coming.

I must have got lucky when I used wirefly. When I first switched to T-Mobile I used wirefly. The deal I got was 2 free blackberry curves and each came with a $100 visa gift card. We also were able to send in 2 of our old phones @ $50 each. We did recieve all of the rebates for a total of $300.00.

Also, since the Fascinate isn't considered a “Droid” one shouldn't expect its price to go down on Monday correct?

Wirefly has a bunch of stupid people working there. They can't understand the concept of using an upgrade from another line on my family plan so that I can upgrade my phone. I talked to three different reps because each of them said they understood what I wanted to do but it never happened and I got denied 3 times. So I gave up.

They might be great for simple transactions, but anything slightly different from that and they just tell you yeah yeah but it's all messed up.

Yes! Please look up reviews for sites like wirefly and letstalk.com. I was enticed by they're ridiculous deals, but after a quick google search I decided to suck it up and pay more to avoid their bad service. The general consensus is that if nothing goes wrong then it's a pretty good deal. But there are quite a few reviewers claiming that they never got their phones and that customer service is a 45-60 min wait with a foreign helpline that isn't too helpful.

Not to advertise but I ended up choosing the new amazon wireless store to upgrade to a droid 2. The cost ended up being half of what verizon was offering, I had a very good experience with an american customer service rep who answered all my questions, and NO rebates. If you're looking for droid deals def do your research on the company, and common sense should tell us that deals that are too good to be true are exactly that.

Does anyone know if this has any effect on the price for an upgraded secondary line on a Family Share?
Will such an upgrade receive any kind of deal? Thanks.

Be VERY careful when you order from WireFly! As Bakubomb said, they have lots of conditions that they can catch you on and charge you for. I've heard a lot of of horror stories from their customers…

  • Bakubomb

I can't trust WireFly after I almost got roped into something horrible with them.

I have 3 phones on my plan and one of them was up for renewal. I told the lady that I was interested in the Droid Inc. and she said that it was only $79 with contract renewal. I told her that was a crazy good deal and asked why it was so low. She responded with “Well if it is a good deal, then what are you waiting for?”

I got a little funny feeling about that statement but $79 is still good so I continued with the process on the phone. We got to the part where she asked what my phone number was and I explained to her that I was going to use the upgrade from one of my lines but move the phone to another one on the same plan. She didn’t seem to care and it seemed fine. She said that the process goes something like they put the request in to Verizon to make sure the line is OK to upgrade and if it is then everything goes though. I said ok and gave her my CC number. After that part she started to THEN tell me all the minor details about the agreement. One agreement had me in shock!

She said that if I change my cell phone plan within the first 6 months of having the phone that I would be charged full retail price for it. I was a little shocked to hear this but I wasn’t planning on it so I commented on how she should have said that before my CC number was given but it wasn’t that big of a deal since I planned on keeping my plan. She then told me that if I stopped paying for data on that number that would be considered a plan change and that they would charge me full retail for the phone. I was about to freak out because I told her that I planned on moving the phone to another number on my line because I wanted to replace my GFs Eris that was locked into a 2 year and that I was only using the upgrade on my 3rd line because it was available and didn’t need a new phone. She said well that I could move the phone in 6 months and everything would be ok. I started to get angry and told her that I didn’t want to wait 6 months to use the phone on the number it needed to be on. She told me that the phone would still work with the other line and started to get me to agree verbally to the terms. I stopped her again and told her that the number that I would be on is used by a 6 year old for emergencies only and my GF didn’t want to have to tell everyone to call another number. She tried YET AGAIN to get me to agree to the terms and I just hung up, called Verizon, told them NOT to allow WireFly to make any changes to my account, and got a Droid Inc. (Certified Pre-Owned) for all of around $50 or so more and moved it instantly to the new number.

    Just my experience though….
