Download: Miren “Charming Browser” by jpsiemer

The Miren “Charming browser” which looks like something you’d find on the MIUI ROM, has been ported over to work on all devices and after tinkering with it for 5 minutes, I’m going to recommend that you all give this one a look.  The browser was obviously not originally in English so it has been translated by jpsiemer and packaged up for your browsing pleasure.  Overall, this has a great feel to it and the shortcuts located on the main page just make sense, plus it allows for tabs, has multi-touch, simple RSS subscribing and so much more.

Give it a later Friday afternoon spin!

Flick Kick Football, My New Mobile Gaming Obsession

by: | posted 11.05.10 | Apps, Games, News

OpenFeint announced 11 new games this week and one of them I cannot get enough of.  It’s called Flick Kick Football and has been dominating my life for at least 3 days now in more ways than one.  The game is similar to Flick Kick Field Goal or Paper Toss, but for whatever reason is so much more fun and addicting.  I probably should have started this off by clarifying that “football” in this game is referring to soccer and not the American pigskin ratings machine, but that shouldn’t turn you away though!

Cute DROID Pro Training Flip Cards Arriving for Employees

by: | posted 11.05.10 | News

Neat little flippy cards on a ring are being distributed to Verizon employees at this time in preparation for the Droid Pro which debuted back in October and still lacks an official release date.  We’ve got it locked in for November 18th, but VZW remains silent even though the training has already started for this “Blackberry Killer.”

Speaking of Blackberry, we’ve got a mini-comparison up at this post to help ease your decision to join the Droid family.  Join us.

DROID Pro vs. Blackberry Curve 9330 vs. Blackberry Bold 9650

by: | posted 11.05.10 | News

Now there is a great look at how Motorola is planning to steal customers from RIM and its Blackberry handsets with the new Droid Pro that we are expecting to hit stores on November 18th.  Exact form factor, almost identical keyboards, global roaming capabilities plus Android and a bigger screen has this device positioned to be an instant winner with the business crowd.  While it may not appeal to all of us 4.3″ screen loving fools, you have to admit that if you had the choice of these 3 devices, you would lean towards our family member.

Sick of those plain ol’ Blur widgets on your Droid X?  Our buddy Bgill55 has taken what sounds like hours upon hours of time to help you out by theming all of them with a nice dark color scheme.  As you all know, we love Bgill’s work and the fact that he’s a fan of RubiX Blurry 1.0 which we have running on our DXs.  This widget themes were needed more than we can express and highly recommend you check them out.  Oh, and don’t forget to donate to Bgill to thank him for all of the amazing work he’s contributed to the Droid community.

Rumor: Android 2.3 Gingerbread SDK Coming November 11th?

by: | posted 11.05.10 | News

Tipsters sure do love next Thursday.  A new rumor has popped up pegging November 11th as the date for the Gingerbread (Android 2.3) SDK to go live which matches up to all of the rumors surrounding the Nexus S and Samsung’s event on the 8th.  At this point, another rumor is another rumor and we’ll just have to wait until the 11th to see if this holds up.  Google to my knowledge doesn’t actually announce dates for their Android releases, so we’ll know for sure when the SDK goes live on their site and they start tweeting about it.
