Seidio Innocase Surface Available for DROID 2

by: | posted 10.27.10 | Accessories, News

The Seidio Innocase Surface case for the Motorola Droid 2 is finally available.  Seidio makes some of the more popular (and expensive) cases on the market, but seem to leave most customers very satisfied.  The Innocase for the D2 has been delayed or stalled for a while now, so those case-crazed owners can now breathe easy.

Oh it’s not in our accessory store yet, but we’re hoping it will be soon.

Buy it here.

Cheers Aon!

Swype Beta Update Coming Early November, Fixes Accuracy and Installation Problems

by: | posted 10.27.10 | Breaking, News

For those of you in the exclusive Swype Beta program, get ready for an update!  A source at Swype Inc who has asked to remain anonymous just told Droid Life that a new version of the Swype Beta for Android is going through the last stages of internal QA testing now. If you have an account that’s been accepted to the beta, expect an update to hit your email inbox sometime during the first week of November.  The update should resolve the vast majority of – if not all of – the problems with installation, and fix some accuracy issues introduced in the last update. Supposedly there’s more stuff than that in the update, but we couldn’t get a confirmed list.

Update:  That is a screenshot from K’s DX, there are no plans that we know of that include a microphone button in this release.

PayPal Blog Announces Android Support Prematurely, Gets Pulled Immediately

by: | posted 10.27.10 | News

According to PayPal, Google has already announced support for their payment system into Android and they wanted to make sure you all knew about it through their blog.  Well, for a few minutes anyway.  The post which went up yesterday was pulled, but not fast enough as Google Cache continues to work wonders after all these years and still displays the little gaffe of a post.

We’re not surprised at the arrival nor are we at the mis-posting of another article on another tech site.  And no, Google has not actually announced PayPal as a payment option yet, but we figure that it’s coming any day now.

Playstation Phone is Real, Poses for Photoshoot

by: | posted 10.27.10 | News

When the gallery of pictures went up on Engadget last night for the Playstation phone, our inbox blew up with excited emails!  Apparently we have some gamers in the crowd that were more than excited to see this device appear to be real and headed for store shelves possibly by X-mas, but will more than likely show up a at CES in January.  The phone has all of the specs to compete with the best of them and might even have its own gaming market.  This PSP has the same configuration of buttons you’d see on the non-phone PSP only it’ll pack some power and Android.

QuickDesk Beta Updated, Includes Quick Panel Task Switching

by: | posted 10.26.10 | Apps

Anyone remember the Helix Launchers?  What about Faruq, the mastermind behind them?  Or his QuickDesk beta which landed on the market back in June?  Well Ruqqq has returned with an updated version of QuickDesk that now includes a “QuickPanel” which is sort of an on-demand task manager.  No this is not one of those dirty Advanced Task Killer programs, this is simply a more convenient way for you to manage your phone from any screen.  Oh, he also tossed in some nice notifications icon updates using ADW Notifier.

Google Readies Nexus One Follow-up, Launching by Christmas?

by: | posted 10.26.10 | News

Has Google already created the follow-up device to its Nexus One?  According to reports today from the UK, the Nexus Two (we’ll call it) is built, loaded with Gingerbread, and will be sold exclusively through Carphone Warehouse by X-mas.  (Who?)  A company based out of the UK, meaning if this rumor is true, Google must already have some plans to hook up with a U.S. retailer to distribute this puppy stateside, right?

Rumor: HTC Incredible HD Headed to Verizon on November 23rd?

by: | posted 10.26.10 | News

According to reports, there is an HTC Incredible HD in the hands of certain Verizon reps and is scheduled to launch on November 23rd (Yes, next month.).  You may remember this device after shots of it leaked out through BGR a couple of months back, looking like the HTC device which we wish had landed on VZW from the beginning.  There were rumored specs such as a front facing camera, 4.3″ screen, etc., but what we really know now is that if it comes out, it’ll be the U.S. version of the Desire HD.
