DROID 2 Overclocked Too!

And just as we got done telling you about a Droid X overclocking method yesterday, we get the same method ported over to the Droid 2 today.  There really isn’t much to say except, good luck!  The method is for pretty advanced rooted users, but we are seeing 1.2  and 1.4GHz overclocks which is pretty significant.

Anyone down to try it?

Full support thread with instructions at Android Forums.

Cheers Ben!

Can some body make video review of how to overclock………

  • I63mike_saechao

I don't belive it untill I see a video of it on youtube….

  • Rty

Great. A faster way to drain the battery!

    • lol i know! my battery is quite fine. plus i carry two full batteries with me so i would be ok. be yea anyway it will decrease battery life a bit.

  • Got mines running at 1.3ghz. Haven't tried 1.4ghz…. YET!!! mwwahahahahahahaaaaaa

  • I63mike_saechao

    Does it even work

  • darkonion has released an easilicious way to over clock your Droid 2↓

  • FortitudineVincimus

Superuser Permissions is so old, cant even get it.. now you/we use Superuser

    • lol i miss the little soldier guy… 🙁

  • The350zWolf

Can't wait to get the Droid2 Global and see if all this hocus pocus stuff works on it!

  • lol one dude over in AF got a 2452 in quad! amazing!

    • Pandemic187

Meh. That's ridiculously high. There are some things that can be done to make Quadrant scores higher than than they “should” be – which is one of the reasons why Quadrant scores don't mean all that much.

  • Arnmsctt

This is awesome. Last night I was finally able to convince my girlfriend to let me root her pants-I mean D2! Now it's time to talk her into the fast and dirty world of overclocking.

  • RoadsterHD1

Let's get more Quadrant score up….

    • Pandemic187

      1471 at 1.1 stock voltage.

      • RoadsterHD1

Is that score with a DX

        • Pandemic187

D2…that's what this article is about.

          • RoadsterHD1

My bad, you're right. Do you have it OC'd

          • Pandemic187

            Yeah. 1.0 is stock. I'm at 1.1. I got ~1350 at 1.0.

          • RoadsterHD1

Can you get it to 1.5GHz?

          • Pandemic187

I don't know, but I know some have run at 1.4 with some stability.

  • Mr. Joshua

(off topic) – question for you guys (maybe Dr. Root): what exactly does partitioning the sd card through rom manager do? And why should I do it (or not)?

    • EC8CH

I believe it allows for apps2sd

    • Mrpicolas

it allows you to use the space as virtual memory 4 older devices with limited memory and with newer devices is really not needed

      • Mr. Joshua

So for Droid 1? Good idea?

        • Mrpicolas

Not needed for the d1 more geared towards the older devices like g1

          • RoadsterHD1

My D1 seems to run low on memory and it tends to slow down. Will partitioning the SD help?

          • Mr. Joshua

So for newer apps (like flash) and potentially Gingerbread that are (or are rumored to) require more on-board memory than old faithful has – would this be the way to go?

        • Pandemic187

I used to do this on my Tilt (phone is 3 years old now I think?).

      • RoadsterHD1

So does this increase my internal memory by using the space as virtual memory like a RAM optimizer would do on a PC?

  • cant wait to do THIS!!!!!!!!!!

  • tbaybe

shut the F*** up i just got rid of mine

  • Skyskioc

    Numbre uno yay

  • mjones1052
