9/13/10 ..just got the 2.2 update for my droid x . but not sure if i want to do it .. the first moto droid messed up after the update

Froyo sucks ass it wont let you kill your apps with task killer so I got a task manager which is suppose to automatically kill apps with the new update. Well it does not kill them all and drains my battery on my DI quick. Even my buddies with a Droid their battery life is lower with the new app. So, this update is not work it.

Sounds like maybe the password lock has some sort of timeout setting? Maybe if it has to be locked for like 3 minutes or so before it will prompt for a password again. Just a thought.

I just got my froyo for my incredible… but now my phone won't lock!
I've changed the passwords a few times and when I go to unlock my phone and slide the bar down there's no option for me to unlock it with a pass code.

Just woke up @ 8am EST and my Droid Incredible phone displayed a message saying that there is an update available for me to install… GOT MY FROYO!

I don't think you'll lose your root. I didn't anyway. Normaly when I upgrade as long as i'm rooted to begin with it sticks. and if for some reason you do lose your root. Just use the universal root app here at DL and you will be rooted again in no time. it works with 2.2.! GL *edit* NM. I was thinking of the X. Not sure if you can root 2.2 on the incredible yet. But you probably won't lose it anyway. But definitely check it out and see if you can.
