We broke the news last week that Verizon was sending out Droid 2 and Incredible devices as warranty replacements for Droid 1′s and it looks like they aren’t stopping any time soon. After another 2 dozen confirmations from readers, we received this shot of the letter that’s included in some shipments. What’s interesting, is that customers are assuming that a D1 will be in the box and are instead opening it up to a nicely upgraded surprise.
+1 Verizon.

The Motorola Milestone 2 made an unexpected appearance today and one that wasn’t planned by Motorola from what we can tell. A full on intro video was found by Android Central then quickly removed only to re-appear again from some a sneaky Engadget reader.

Yep, that title says it all. Today, the whole crew here at Droid Life would like to announce that the DL Forums are live and ready for you to take over! It’s been a fun 9 month journey so far in the Droid community and this is the next step to helping continue our support for what we believe is the greatest lineup of smartphones on the planet.
We really just want the forums to be an extension of this site and a place for the unbelievable community here to gather and discuss topics in greater detail. Sometimes a single thread of comments on a post can be a little overwhelming, especially if you are looking for a very specific answer and we’re hoping this will fix that.
The forums have been set up in the simplest of manners with only 6 major categories and just a few very specific sub-categories. The last thing we wanted to do was scare you at launch, but know that we are open to suggestions and will definitely be evolving over time.

The @DroidLanding Twitter account just started up what appears to be a new contest. At the same time, the new R2-D2 Droid 2 page went live and includes all kinds of fun facts, tricks, secrets, and info about this mysterious Star Wars related device.

Update 1: Apparently the new contest involves secret codes which will unlock the location of the secret plans of the lost R2-D2 unit. Should you find the plans, you will receive one of the special edition D2′s for free. Also along the way, these unlock codes will give you access to all of the features on the new R2-D2 site like exclusive video, wallpapers, a device gallery, etc.

Well…..Hello there lovely readers of Droid-Life! Boy, has it been busy around here! We got an IRC Channel, we got OTA’s, and even Manual Updates! Plus, you can expect it to get busier!
Time for a break and a nice lil’ sit down with one of my favorite peoples in the Android Community, Mr. CVPCS of the most righteous Sapphire ROM. You guys may know me for my non stop flashing of different ROM’s and themes, but if I had just one choice for a “backup” emergency ROM….it would be Sapphire. *sheds tear* It’s very good!
Anyways, enough of the emotional stuff. TechDeft and I had a great time chatting it up with CVPCS and are very excited to share this with you!

It’s here! It’s here! The Yahoo Fantasy Football app has launched and is available in the market for free! A glorious day indeed for all fantasy obsessive football fiends. Nice timing too with the regular season starting in just 9 days. Everyone signed up for their leagues?
On a related note, we can’t do a Droid Life league because there are way too many people and we’d end up having 150 different leagues going on. However, we are looking into a pick’em or survivor league which would allow for everyone to join in the fun. Stay tuned for that!
