Another Droid X Froyo sighting.   And this time we have a picture of the full phone instead of just a screenshot.  Anyone else feeling even more skeptical about this one than the last though?  Same baseband and system version as the 2.1 Droid X we all currently have seems a little odd.  We would normally expect both of those to be updated.  (Shrug.)

I’m starting to get the feeling that we’ll be seeing these popping up on a daily basis until the OTA finally rolls out.  Aren’t you?

So we’ve got an “official” Incredible Android 2.2 leak, 2 shots of the Droid X “allegedly” running it and who knows how many builds for the Droid 1 in the wild.  I guess next Friday is starting to look more and more legit.

At Motorola, we believe a customer shouldn’t have to dress up their phone for it to work properly.  That’s why the DROID X comes with a dual antenna design.  The kind that allows you to hold the phone any way you like to make crystal clear calls without a bulky phone jacket.  For us it’s just one of those things that comes as a given when you’ve been making mobile phones for over 30 years.

The Android 2.2 update for the Incredible, Droid X and Droid 1 might actually be on its way after a leaked version of the official OTA update for the DI just went live only a few hours after we saw this screenie of the Droid X.  This is the full on updated SenseUI version with 720p recording, mobile hotspot, etc.  The real deal people.

Unfortunately for the non-rooted Incredible users, this is built as a ROM and requires you to be rooted, perform a full wipe and be on the newest baseband which leaked a week or so ago in order for it to work.

I should also warn you that returning to stock after doing this might be difficult at this time, so please don’t come asking for a way to return if the OTA update does in fact start rolling out next week.

If you do not currently own a Droid X, Verizon sure wants to get you into one.  We saw the promo flyer from earlier that they are sending out to customers, including some that bought the Droid 1 back in November which under normal circumstances would have no business upgrading early.  We’ve received forwarded emails from readers that Verizon is pushing to upgrade plus this video message that went out to a Blackberry owner…

This is the time people!  With all of this promo material flying around, you should easily have a strong case for them to allow you to upgrade.  Well, assuming that you would even want to.  Good luck!

It does exist!

The Augen Gentouch has sort of taken the Android world by storm over the last 24 hours after a Kmart flyer was spotted showing it for sale at the ridiculously low price of $149.  This tablet, running Android 2.1, was supposed to hit stores this week, but is seeing all sorts of excuses as to why it hasn’t.  Most users are flocking to Kmart and being turned away with rainchecks.  (Yes rainchecks.)

I’m in Portland and called 4 stores in the surrounding area and came up empty at all of them.  However, one of our readers found a Kmart with 3 still in stock and sent in pics!

A screenshot of an apparent Droid X device running Android 2.2 has appeared today and should excite the massive amounts of new DX owners out there.  We are finding it a little odd that this 2.2 build somehow has root access, hence the Drocap2 icon up top, but overall matches up pretty closely to our picture of the Droid 2 running Froyo.  It sure would have been nice to see the full device like we gave you with the D2…OK now we’re just being greedy.

We’ve heard rumors that this update could happen next week along with the Droid 1 and Incredible, so hold on to your update britches!

This might be the most absurd thing we have ever done, but every once in a while you just need a good laugh.  Yes, we actually bought a Droid 2 dummy phone and reviewed it.  And now I’ll give you 20 seconds to laugh at us.

Actually, the whole point of this was to show you size comparisons to other Droid devices as well the minor tweaks that have been made to the look.  That didn’t really help justify this post did it?  Enjoy!
