Android Gaming Challenge Announced, Bundles of Prizes Added

Get ready to take Android gaming to the next level with the first ever Android Gaming Challenge. In a format similar to PC gaming tournaments, the guys at DroidGamers are pitting competitors against each other in a ladder style tourney to determine the best Android gamer in the US. If you are into gaming at all on your Android device, this is something you should consider. There are a number of sponsors giving away some pretty impressive prizes including a Dell Streak and a phone of your choice.

The tournament starts tomorrow morning at 10AM PST.

Need to get me a game gripper. Not for the tournament but bc emulator games are neigh unplayable on a touch screen. Even the physical kb didn't really help.

I think once Froyo and Flash are OTA offical i think it will bust open the gaming on android. It's like when 2.1 first came out there was a lot of 2.1 only apps and with flash i think that will really open it up.. were gonna stay positive and hope for the best. Now please lets stop comparing it to Apples apps because thats not going to get us anywhere.

The first qualifier game involved in the tournament (the first 5 days for everyone) will be officially announced the day the tournament starts. Each game involved in the Ladder will be announced a few hours before each round starts to give everyone plenty of time to get the game and get a little practice in before the round starts.

Games on the market honestly suck balls compared to the apple app store. I think that's one of android's biggest weak points, its lack of good developers.

You're right. Unfortunately, Apple's app store is lightyears ahead in the gaming department. Games on Android just plain suck, with the exception of old console emulator games.

Yup. Google really needs to find a way to encourage and attract new and good developers. Does anyone know what percent of the money from purchased apps goes to google?

I thought that, until I spent a couple bucks on Rom Buddy and took advantage of the emulators… Let's see your iDont (pardon my French) play 20 years worth of video game history!
