Motorola DROID BOGO Offer Ends July 17th

We received this tip that the Motorola Droid and its buy one, get one free deal will be ending as of July 17th. Not that many of you are probably still looking at the Droid 1 as an option if you are eligible for an upgrade, especially with the Droid X dropping tomorrow and the Droid 2 just a few weeks later, but wanted to make sure you knew. Might be a good time to get the kiddies started on Android though.

I am getting BOGO on the brain, All I know is I am getting my Droid 1 rooted this weekend and holding out for a 2ghz droid phone hopefully around the corner. I am still excited about the new phones though. Maybe someone will break the code on the bootloaders

If you wanted a Droid which isn't locked down then your stuck with the Droid 1. Shame that Motorola locked down the newest two droids.

this offer is stupid anyhow… you can pay 150 for both phones with verizons BOGO, or you can just go to wirefly and get 2 droids for 0.00 dollars with 2 yr contract with verizon.

D1 is FREE on Amazon! DInc is $149 on Amazon w no rebate (I ordered and got one the other day)! Check Amazon and they frequently have the DInc in stock w/ free 2-day shipping lately.

I am getting a BOGO free tomorrow with the Droid X for myself and the Droid 1 for my wife.

Do you think they will do BOGO free with the Droid 2 in a couple of weeks or am i just dreaming?

They ought to do like Apple did with their close out phones and simply offer the Droid for $99 until supplies are exhausted. And at about that time the Droid 2 will be coming out or will have just come out. The Droid is still a very capable phone. There isn't isn't an alternative with a keyboard (Devour and Ally aren't in the same league). The Droid X is nice if you want a big screen, and the Incredible is nice if you want the faster processor, but the physical keyboard is what brings newbies in and alleviates anxiety over making the jump to a smartphone especially a “techie” phone with Android.

  When you root and go on Froyo, there is an auto restore for all your apps that are linked to your gmail account….<3 it! lol

    Is it supposed to do that everytime you switch ROMs? Even after a full wipe? Because it didn't work for me on the CM6 RC1.

      When you do a full wipe, most (and I hate to say) “good” ROM's will have that feature working. It's a total time saver. Some ROM's have not enabled that feature yet though.
      CM, InsaneNemesis V1.1, Bugless, Jrummy, etc do have these feature and it SHOULD work….

        Navy. boot camp was easier than summer camp. Long hours but nothing really hard. we used to sneak out at night by climbing a 10 foot fence topped with barbwire ( never really understood the purpose of that being as I was in great lakes / chicago) and go to the main bases clubs. Those were the days.

  Your apps are linked to your google account, not a specific handset… that's the beauty of the cloud.

Even if its BOGO,the og Droid is still going for $149…they need to drop the price even further as the DroidX is going for $199…they're gonna be sitting on a whole bunch of back stock..

    now that's a good mktg plan how can vzw live knowing a competitor is selling a phone less that 30% of what they advertise? if walmart can profit at $48.88 (although they'll make most of their money from commission per contract and not from the unit price), there's only 1 explaination of vzw pricing…price gouging.. >:O
