Thursday Poll: Interested in a Droid Life Podcast?

We have been approached with an opportunity to possibly create or at least take part in a podcast and wanted to know the thoughts of the most important people involved, all of our readers. We had never really thought of doing a podcast, but with a number of them running on other sites, we figure there has to be some sort of an audience out there. So what do you guys think?

Depending on how much time you have and maybe just start out as a weekly DroidCast for starters!

It would depend if you have a goofy voice to be quite honest. I use to hear major nelsons podcast, his voice started to get goofy so i stopped listening.

Sorry to hijack. I am still in search of a bricked droid. Like a swimming pool casulty. I want one to make a custome body. Not a case, I actually do some metalwork and though of making a metalic body for a droid. Plz let me know or email me @ pakmann2k@gmail.com . If you donate a broken one, I willeven let you have it back once I photograph it. Picture the stock droid wallpaper. Now picture your phone body looking that way.

Hey Kellex i have an idea and i hope that you find time to read this comment i really strongly agree that you should have a droid-life chat section on this site and a chat app that works for our Droids as well and also just an idea it wouldnt be be bad if the whole droid-life website site had a Droid X theme on it you know just for the week the Droid X is released there has been sooooo many posting of Droid X material it seems only right (two thumbs up plz consider this) and another thing have there been anymore Swype themes that have come out based off the new Swype Beta im patiently waiting on “New Swype Beta Themes” as a title for one of your posts. I really hope you read this i know you are swamped with feeding your Droid kids everyday just hope you dont miss this good idea…

I think a bi-weekly Drocast would be cool. Run down the current events, then future events, then a Q&A section. “Post of the week” prize. could be fun, and a lot of work for Kellex though.

Would be great. My suggestion would be to listen to a few other podcasts to get an idea for a format. Personally I think something like TWIT would be great. A bit of a round table type discussion. I would suggest you only do them when there's news worthy of talking about and not worry about weekly ones with fluff. Also please don't do one like engadget where they get side tracked so easily and 50% of it is bad jokes and people talking over each other. Leo laporte does a great job of keeping conversation going and on topic. GDGT guys are great at disagreeing without being disagreeable. Nothing is worse than the bitch fest back and forth that the Engadget podcast gets into all the time.

More interested in a forum, although its not clear that is needed either, given the existing sites. But what would be useful is a place where you can post questions, and hopefully someone will have an answer.

Oh, what the heck, here is a question. When I initially went to Jrummy Kangerade 1.1, it included SetCPU in the rom; since then I can not install updates to it. I am now on BB.4, and still can't install updates. Since Setcpu appears ot be built in as a system ap, is there a way to uninstall it, and then reinstall using the market?

No offense, I think you could come up with something better than that.. But, I think the blog is good enough. Ideas anyone? Is there really that much stuff to talk about that would constitute a need for this? I NEVER use podcasts (or droidcasts) so maybe I'm just horribly out of the loop..

It would just be another great median of reaching the masses about Droid-Life
Maybe he can gear it more towards actual root users, or even non roots.
Or it can be just like a spoken word jam session where he reads poetry about his Droid and
there is some dude hitting the tablas for half an hour lol

Great call. I hated when podcast became the go to word. So stupid. Anyway, I'd probably listen once I get a phone that doesn't die after an hour of being connected to bluetooth, or at least has a 3.5mm jack.
