Don’t forget that the live coverage of the NFL Draft is available using the new and exclusive NFL Mobile app from Verizon. There have been Motorola Droid sightings all over the place. We’ve even seen one on air showing off this new app plus a ton of Droid commercials including the new 4 Corners piece.
I do have to point out that this app is struggling mightily. It needed a refresh after a 2 minute opening load period, plus the live video appears to be down. Come on VZW!

It seems like just yesterday that the official Android 2.1 OTA update was rolling out to our Motorola Droids doesn’t it? And over the past week, we’ve seen a ton of chatter surrounding a 2.2 update plus the release of Flash 10.1! In fact, both are rumored to be showing up sometime in May which seems fairly unbelievable, but at the same time, very believable. Pure craziness.
So we want to know though, which are you more excited about? I know that Android 2.2 is quite the mystery and may just be a bug fixer, but the thought has to have you somewhat giddy.
As always, feel free to share your reasons.
Shake Uninstall is a must-have app for anyone who is really into testing multiple applications at a time. If you like to cruise the market grabbing anything looking semi-interesting, this app will allow you to uninstall them quickly once you realize they are garbage. (Was that uncalled for?)

Our favorite non-Swype style keyboard just keeps getting better. As of today, you can work through a step-by-step process and actually create your own customized HTC_IME keyboard. We are now on version 24 and one of the developers behind this ported version has released his beta customization method. Check it out…
*This is for non-rooted and rooted users. Everyone!*
1. Visit this site and register for an account.
2. Choose “Create a custom keyboard skin from scratch.”
3. Choose your keyboard version. (v24 is the newest.)
4. Follow the next few steps, choosing your color scheme.
5. Click “Generate Keyboard.”
6. Download your keyboard and install it. (Installation instructions here.)
Update: It appears that you do need the Clicker file for calibration. Download here.
With this new v24, it appears that the Clicker.apk for calibration is no longer needed and the settings for the keyboard have become much more polished. There are even a few new features which you’ll enjoy.

Yep, Android 2.2 is more than officially upon us. We showed you our analytics which pegged Android 2.2 testers cruising our site and now we’ve got photos from “official testers.”

You thought last Friday’s theme was spot on with red? Wait until you see JRummy’s new V.7 themes which include a red version. This might be the sexiest theme I’ve seen to date. Scratch that. This IS the sexiest theme I’ve seen to date. Obviously you all know I’m a huge fan of JRummy’s work, but he may have outdone himself with this one.
*Note 1* – For rooted users only. Rooting instructions here and here.
Instructions for installation…
1. Open ROM Manager
2. Tap “Download ROM.”
3. Tap “JRummy.”
4. Choose the red theme and allow it to download.
5. When prompted to “wipe data and cache” and “backup” read below…
JRummy’s V.7 themes are based off of Cyanogen 5.0.6.2. If you are coming from a 5.0.6 ROM you can skip “wipe data and cache.” I even managed to go from 5.0.5.7 without having to “wipe data” but it’s up to you. If you are coming from anything before 5.0.5, you should probably “wipe data.”
Backup is a good idea just in case you are nervous or don’t have a current one.
6. Tap “OK”, allow the magic to happen and your phone to reboot.
7. BAM! Enjoy!
